Animal Reiki

About this time last summer I had my last,in a series of 3, Reiki attunements after deciding that this type of healing would fit very nicely with my Animal Acupressure Massage business. I had attended a Reiki circle as a guest and was at once on board with the healing power I felt coming from the people around me. For those of you not aware of what Reiki is and what it does let me tell you~
Reiki practitioners are attuned to the energy that flows through all living things.
They learn to channel the healing power of this Life Force energy to help facilitate wellness and well being in the individuals and animals they help. Reiki is a "laying on of hands" healing system that is both simple and powerful.
Animals get disease and ailments much in the same way people do, they have pent-up emotions and feelings which in turn can cause illness and disorders. However, unlike people they don't really have control over their lives. Therefore pets have increased frustration and fear. Reiki is helpful for our animal friends by helping them let go of their pain and emotional issues.
I have been using this technique since last October and so far I have had amazing results. It has been an easy segue from times when I use my Acupressure Massage then find that my client would also benefit from a Reiki session too. Reiki does not have to involve actually "touching" the animal, this makes it a great alternative to treating a shy/fearful or injured dog. Using Reiki at my first visit for these types helps both me and the pet get used to each other and lets them know I am there to calm and help them heal. The animals I've seen have responded so well, and using Reiki in conjunction with the Acupressure Massage is another valuable tool for me and my clients.
