It's That Time of Year

Halloween is coming and I would like to take this time and remind everyone that the month of
October is a dangerous time for animals. There is likely to be easy access to all kinds of chocolate
candy floating around and that means a scary temptation for dogs and cats.
There is a chemical compound in chocolate that can have very serious effects on animals. Many vets report increased emergency calls because of accidental chocolate ingestion between the months of October and December.
Try to be extra vigilant with your trick or treat candy around your pets. If a sneak attack does occur, call your vet and let him determine if your little monster needs to come in for treatment.
Don't let this Halloween be a frightening event for your pets!!
Remember to keep an eye on your cats on Halloween night too. All of the extra cars in your neighborhood and people in costume are very confusing and that may make your kitty dart into traffic. It is a good idea for people who own black cats to bring them inside if possible at this time of year. Halloween pranks include tricks played on our black cats, a stupid stunt could hurt your friend so don't take the chance.
In closing I would like to apologize for taking so long between posts, I will try not to let this happen again. Sorry.
Have a safe and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
